Introducing Reach: Social Media Management Built for Higher Ed

Today we are launching MeetYourClass Reach, the first social media management platform built specifically for higher education. Reach gives social media managers one workspace to research what's working across the industry, source content from across campus, publish across channels, benchmark against peer institutions, and attribute value to a university’s end goals. It is built to work at every scale, from a solo manager running a single account to central marketing coordinating every account a university operates.
Reach is available now. If you run social media day to day, you can start a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. If you lead marketing or communications across departments, you can schedule a demo to see how an institution-wide plan works.
Where Reach Comes From
Where We Started
MeetYourClass was founded to manage "Class of" communities on Instagram: pages where admitted students introduce themselves, find community, and meet their class before ever reaching campus. Today we run those pages alongside universities across the country, and they have grown to several millions of followers, with more than one million students featured.
Managing these pages taught us two key lessons. First, the power of meeting your audience where they already live: because we built communities on Instagram, a platform students already use daily, the pages grew organically and served students at a very large scale. Second, because we managed these communities in partnership with admissions and enrollment teams – we measured that social media can transcend beyond mere engagement, and actually lead to direct improvements in the end-goals of a university.
The Opportunity Ahead
The success of these pages in the admit-to-move-in window convinced us of a much larger opportunity. Short of getting students to visit campus, we believe organic social media is the channel where universities have the most opportunity to showcase what sets them apart. Not to mention, every audience a university cares about is already there: from the prospective students and families researching schools years before application, to the alumni and fans who want to stay connected long after graduation. Reach expands our thesis from one window of the student journey to every audience, account, and department a university touches.
Years of working beside the people who run campus accounts left us with profound respect for the craft. This is one of the most nuanced jobs in all of marketing: a campus can operate hundreds of accounts across admissions, advancement, academic departments, student services, and athletics, each with its own audience and expectations by platform. It also comes with an advantage no other industry has: a campus full of potential contributors, everywhere from student workers and ambassadors to athletes, faculty, and students majoring in exactly this work.
Some institutions coordinate account management with a full team; at others, a single manager carries the entire operation, where one handoff can cause an account to go dark because nobody else had the password. Until today, every social media management tool on the market has been industry-agnostic, and we believe work this nuanced deserves software built for it. Reach is that software, shaped by direct conversations with hundreds of higher-ed social media professionals and beta tested across colleges, departments, and agencies of all sizes and geographies.
What Reach Does
Research: see the whole field at once
Reach tracks virtually every main, admissions, and alumni account across every US higher ed institution on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Most significantly, every post across each of those accounts flows into one live, searchable database, ranked by engagement rate. Reach can show you not only what is trending across every higher ed account today, but also the strongest historical examples for any piece of content you can think of. AI makes everything searchable and sorted into 34 higher-ed content categories, from Day in the Life to Athletics to Alumni Features. Additionally, every account is tied to its institution’s IPEDS data, so you can build peer sets and refine your research to the institutions you compete directly against.
We are building the index to cover every corner of the industry: individual departments, sub-colleges, sports teams, and global universities – and there is no cap on how many peers you can track.
You can also run a content-gap analysis on your own accounts, plan against what performed this time last year, and get an alert the moment a peer's post is performing 95% above its rolling 30-day average. When you find something worth keeping, save it to shared inspiration folders your whole team can search, instead of running a burner account that follows hundreds of schools and burying the good ideas in a saved-posts folder.
You can see a daily, free sample of this data in the Reach Report, which publishes higher ed's top-performing posts, fastest-growing accounts, and trending hashtags every morning.

Sourcing: field content from across campus
For virtually all social media accounts, most content naturally comes from the core team managing the account. We believe higher ed has an opportunity that other industries do not: students, athletes, faculty, alumni, and campus partners who are glad to contribute content when that contribution is easy.
Reach is built with native forms that empower anyone to submit photos, video, and story ideas straight into your review pipeline. Submissions flow directly into your workspace, letting you review, approve, and schedule them alongside standard posts, rather than collecting community content over text, email, or direct messages.
For even more personalized content, run account takeovers directly through Reach – allowing community-members to “take over” an account for a day without ever sharing a password. This is how an institutional account starts to feel like a community without giving up direct oversight.

Publishing: from idea to in your feed without switching tools
The whole life of a post happens under one roof: the idea list, the content calendar, the approval workflow, and the scheduler are the same system as publishing, so nothing gets copied between tools and nothing falls through the gaps. View the pipeline as a Kanban board, a list, or a calendar, and build custom views by campaign, platform, or team member, which makes even a multi-step campus approval chain easy to set up and easy to live with. When a post is ready, it publishes natively to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and Threads. AI saves real time by captioning drafts written in your trained brand voice, automatically generating alt text, and recommending post times learned from engagement patterns across millions of higher-ed posts. A shared asset library keeps media, saved inspiration, and community templates in one place.

Benchmarking: measured against peers that actually make sense
Reach pulls analytics from every account you run into one clear view, as any good social tool should. What a generic tool cannot tell you is whether your numbers are good for an institution like yours. Reach recognizes 29 distinct account types across higher ed, including main institutional, admissions, athletics, and alumni, and benchmarks each of your accounts against its true peers. Track engagement rate, growth, and content mix, run head-to-head comparisons, and export stakeholder-ready reports to PDF, PPTX, or CSV on a schedule you set. The comparisons work in both directions: they show where your team is genuinely ahead, and where the next investment of effort would matter most.
Peer data also gives you standing inside your own institution. When you ask leadership for budget, headcount, or sign-off, you can walk in with numbers to support your strategy and initiatives.

Connected to the systems a university already runs
Social engagement your CRM can finally see
Social media has long been a black box for enrollment teams. You could always see the aggregate numbers, but almost never which individual, prospective students were actually engaging – the way you can with email opens, forms, or website visits. For institutions that pair Reach with MeetYourClass Enroll, our community-building platform for admitted students, that changes. Follows and unfollows, comments, link clicks, and direct messages can be tied back to individual records in your CRM, giving social media the same visibility your other channels have.
That visibility is what makes attribution possible. A student who looks like a purchased lead-list name or a stray form fill may actually have been following your accounts for years, and now that history shows up on their record, credits the content work that earned it, and shows which initiatives are actually moving enrollment.

Accessibility, moderation, and support, built in
Accessibility. Public universities face upcoming federal deadlines under the DOJ’s Title II ADA rule, which legally requires all official social media content to meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards. To simplify compliance and ensure accessibility, our platform automatically generates AI alt-text for images and runs instant accessibility checks in the publishing workflow – helping teams publish accessible content effortlessly before hitting post.
Moderation. Managing social comments across multiple campus accounts shouldn't create legal risks. Our unified inbox centralizes comment moderation, conversation labeling, and saved replies, all designed around public university compliance. Higher ed teams can efficiently manage high-volume engagement while maintaining the audit trails and transparency required by open-records regulations.
Support. Onboarding and customer success come from a team that works exclusively with colleges and universities, including white-glove migration from your current tool on enterprise plans.
From one account to the whole institution
Reach works at both ends of campus social media and everywhere in between. A solo manager with one account gets a complete workspace on a single paid seat. A central team can put every account, every department, and every contributor on one system. What makes university wide management possible is the pricing.
Most social media platforms charge for every person who touches content. On a campus, that pricing quietly decides who gets to participate: the central marketing team may purchase licenses internally, but it’s nearly impossible to extend them to every department, athletics coach, or student worker.
Reach takes a different approach – with pricing designed from the ground up to support a university’s budgeting model. For solo social media managers, a single paid seat unlocks access for an entire student team. Free Editor access across all paid plans lets student workers, contributors, and approvers draft, comment, upload assets, and submit content for approval – without added seat costs. When enterprise-wide adoption makes sense, plans are tailored to the institution and built around unlimited seats, with single sign-on, white-glove onboarding, and a dedicated customer success manager. The goal is for everyone who touches the institution's social media to work on one system, rowing in the same direction: one calendar, one asset library, one measurement system.
That balance is the point of the model. Central marketing gets a live view of the entire landscape of accounts representing the brand, while each account manager keeps the sovereignty and flexibility they have today: their own workspace, their own content pipeline, and benchmarking against the peers that matter to their corner of campus. Joining the system is a gain for the individual manager.
None of that requires a campus-wide mandate on day one. Most teams start with the accounts they own and bring in departments over time, and the pricing is built so that growing the system is an invitation rather than a budget fight.

What's next
Today, Reach covers the full lifecycle of a post, from research and sourcing to publishing and reporting. Here is what we are building next:
Direct publishing to every channel. Reach currently supports publishing directly on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and LinkedIn. TikTok, X, and YouTube are supported through “Publish Natively,” where Reach prepares the finished post and hands it to your phone with a QR scan, so the media, caption, and instructions are ready to transfer. Direct publishing is coming to these channels very soon.
Social listening. Monitoring of mentions and conversation about your institution across social platforms, beyond the accounts you run yourself. Reach can already tell you what your peers are posting. Listening tells you what people are saying about you when you are not in the room, which is where a lot of reputation work actually starts.
Website widgets. Embeddable widgets that bring your best social content directly onto your institution's website, so the work your team is already doing shows up where prospective students, families, and alumni are researching you. The social feed and the site stop being two separate efforts.
Student takeovers. A structured way for students, athletes, staff, and campus partners to post to an account for a day without ever being handed a password. Sourcing forms are already live to bring in content; however, takeovers can fully hand over the microphone, with complete oversight and an audit trail behind it.
Account hierarchy and scoped permissions. Central marketing can already see every account the institution runs in one view. What is not ready yet is scoping underneath that view: permissioning that maps to institutional structure, so a department, an athletics team, or a student org sees and manages only its own accounts, and leadership can segment what they are looking at by audience or by unit.
If you want a voice in what we build next, the fastest way to get one is to become a partner.

CEO Quote
"Social media has become an essential part of not just the college search, but the entire college journey, from prospective student to alumni. Despite this, there is little to no support for the social media managers responsible for engaging an entire institution's community. We knew higher ed deserved better. Reach is the culmination of hundreds of conversations to truly understand how a product could better serve higher education. The entire MeetYourClass team is proud of what we've created and thrilled at the opportunity to listen and build for the unique challenges our industry faces." – Blake Mischley, Co-founder and CEO, MeetYourClass
